Permission to Pause

There’s a moment when even the strongest woman reaches her edge.
Not because she’s weak. Not because she’s lazy. Not because she’s giving up.
But because she’s full.
Full of schedules. Full of responsibilities. Full of emotions she’s been tucking into corners for too long. Full of doing all the right things while quietly wondering, "But what about me?"
Lately, I’ve been there.
Running a business. Preparing for my daughter’s wedding. Showing up. Creating. Serving. Smiling. And yet… somewhere between all the “have to’s” and “should do’s,” I realized my joy had gone quiet. My creativity started whispering instead of singing. And I started to feel like I was failing—even though I was simply exhausted.
So today, I’m writing this for me—and for you, sis:
You have permission to pause.
Not because everything is perfect. Not because the to-do list is finished. Not because the world gave you approval.
But because your soul needs a moment to breathe. Because you’re allowed to rest without guilt. Because joy doesn’t live in the hustle—it lives in the presence.
So, if you’re tired of showing up for everyone but yourself…If your creativity feels dry and your spirit feels numb…If you’re longing for peace but keep putting it off...
Pause.
Take the nap. Play the music. Say no. Sit down. Stare out the window. Laugh at something silly. Let the world wait.
And don’t apologize for it.
Because a woman who knows how to pause…Is a woman who will rise with power.
I’m choosing my joy again. Not in the future, not “after the wedding,” not “once I catch up.” Right now.
And if you needed someone to give you the permission?
Here it is.
Signed with love,
Diane
